About our Guests of Honor
H.E. Mindrolling Jetsün Khandro Rinpoche
Mindrolling Jetsün Khandro Rinpoche is one of the foremost Tibetan lamas teaching in the West. She has received instruction from many of the greatest masters of the 20th century.
She is the daughter of H.H. Mindrolling Trichen, the head of the Nyingma tradition within Tibetan Buddhism. At the age of two, she was recognized by H.H. the 16th Gyalwa Karmapa as the incarnation of a famous female master - the great Dakini of Tsurphu, Khandro Urgyen Tsomo. In this way, Mindrolling Jetsün Khandro Rinpoche became a lineage holder in the Nyingma and Kagyu traditions. She teaches in fluent English.
Mindrolling Jetsün Khandro Rinpoche Karma Tashi Ling Buddhist Center's spiritual guide has visited us many times. Last time she visited us was in 2019, and we are very happy to welcome her back to Karma Tashi Ling again and look forward to her teachings!

Launch of A Limited-Edition Commemorative Book
Honoring Half a Century of Dharma in Norway
For 50 years, Karma Tashi Ling has been a gateway for the Dharma in the Nordics, offering teachings, practice, and community to those interested in walking the path. Now, for the first time, this beautifully crafted, limited-edition coffee table book brings together rare photographs, historical accounts, and reflections on the journey that led to the establishment of one of the oldest Tibetan Buddhist centers in Europe.
With 250 pages of rich content, this extensive book is more than a record of the past—it is a tribute to the teachers, practitioners, and community who have nurtured the Dharma in the Nordics, making it accessible to all who seek it. Whether you have been part of this path for years or are just discovering it, this book serves as both a keepsake and a source of information and inspiration.
By securing your copy in advance, you receive a special part of Karma Tashi Ling’s history and actively support the continuation of the Dharma for future generations. Let this book remind us of the path we walk together and the deep interconnectedness of all those who have helped shape this sacred place.
Where we are
Karma Tashi Ling Buddhist Center is located at Bjørndal, a suburb in southern Oslo. The temple is easy to access by public transport from Oslo city center. The address is Bjørndalsveien 124, 1272 Oslo, and the bus stop Sommero is outside the temple. There are limited parking spaces in the area, so we recommend using public transport. Take t-bane 3 (Mortensrud), from Mortensrud, change to bus 72 Seterbråten. On Sundays you'll need to take bus 71 Bjørndal from Mortensrud, and get off at Nyjordet, a 12 minute walk from the temple.
