A day-long teaching by Geshe Lobsang Gedun

We are very fortunate to host a day-long teaching by Geshe Lobsang Gedun at Paramita Meditation Center on 21.January. The topic for the teaching will be the "Eight Verses of Transforming the Mind", a famous lojong text by Geshe Langri Thangpa.

Lobsang Gedun was born in 1976 in Kham, Tibet. He first began his monastic education at Dangthok monastery in his native Tsawa Shepa. In 1991, he fled Tibet for India to pursue advanced Buddhist studies and to see His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama. In 1992, he finally joined Sera Jey College in South India to accomplish one of his long cherished goals of studying the five great treatises of Buddhism. Geshe Lobsang Gedun currently holds a teaching position in Buddhist dialectics at Thrangu Buddhist College within the Karma Kargyu tradition. In 2014, Lobsang Gedun received his Geshe Lharam degree from Sera Jey with excellent results. This is equivalent to a doctorate degree in our modern education system. He has received teachings from many great Tibetan buddhist masters, including His Holiness the Dalai Lama. 

The teaching will be given in Tibetan with translation into English
